Strawberry Basil Lemonade

For a long long time, Bacardi's Dragonberry rum was my favorite rum to use in my mixed drinks. It's sweet smelling, girly and easy enough to mix with, grab some cranberry and Sprite and sip away. It's been a long time since I've had it exclusively, and a friend of mine brought a bottle over as a birthday gift back in March.

So its Saturday night, I'm craving a cocktail to wind down while the girls are in bed. I preemptively made a simple syrup and fresh squeezed lemon juice earlier in the day. I hoped onto to Pinterest and went through my pins and stumbled upon a drink that included lemonade, strawberries and basil. I've never had any other herbs in my drinks besides mint and I happen to LOVE basil, I was sold. I rushed into the kitchen, muddled up the strawberries and basil, stirred in my ingredients, and nearly gulped down my drink it was so good. It was sweet, tart, basil-y, PERFECT! I'm afraid I've awoken my obsession for Dragonberry once more.

Strawberry Basil Lemonade:
  1. 1 ounce Bacardi Dragonberry Rum
  2. 1 ounce fresh lemon juice (Half a lemon)
  3. 3/4 ounce of simple syrup
  4. 2 medium sized strawberries
  5. 2 sprigs of basil
Start off by muddling the basil and strawberries together. Add the simple syrup, lemon juice and rum. Stir and serve over ice. Enjoy!

P.s
I've got some marshmallows infusing in some Vodka, and i'm absolutely excited to share with you how it turns out, please stop by soon!
