Free Crochet Pie Pattern

This is my first pattern that i'm publishing. For many reasons this will be free. I'm new to writing patterns and i'm still not as confident in that field, but i would like to continue working on free patterns and hopefully get to a place where i can write up some patterns to sell. For now, we have this, a PIE!

It's quite simple, and great for beginners.

I started a section in my etsy shop called "The Sweet Shoppe" and have many play foods listed, i wanted an easy pie to add to this section and many of the patterns i found were paid for patterns, or not quite what i was looking for. So i came up with this one. Enjoy!!

And thats it! Pretty simple eh? I'm so glad to share this with you all, im doing my best to create more patterns specifically for my blog. Please comment and come back soon!

Peach Limeade and a DIY scalp scrub

One thing that I've noticed about myself when it comes to blogging is that while i'm always filled with a ton of ideas, and while i manage to get some of those ideas done and out, I'm never documenting it, im almost always telling myself "take a picture, take a picture!" because if i don't, there's nothing to show for what i've done. Despite how much i'm surrounded by technology, i find that i'm not as engulfed in it as most people, not socially anyway. Which is quite bad since most of my Etsy selling is based on not only how well my products are, but how i advertise them.

Moving along, I've paused my life long enough to snap these pictures so that i can force myself to blog, and make no more excuses.

First, I have for you a home made peach limeade (pictured above). This limeade is perfectly tart, my most favorite taste for drinks, but sweet enough to not be over powering. I'm just gonna get right into it.

Peach Limeade

  • One large or two small peaches, ripened
  • 4 Limes juiced
  • 4 cups of water
  • Sweetener of your choice, to taste

I first juiced my limes in my juicer, and then added it to my blender along with the peach and 2 cups of cold water. I blended for a bit, until everything seemed smooth, i then started to add my sugar and the water, one cup at a time, taking time to blend properly.

Optional: I strained my juice because i prefer a smoother juice with no pulp, but you can keep the pulp in just the same.

Chill until its cold enough and enjoy!

Moving onto my scalp scrub.

Unfortunately, i have always had a dry scalp. This has been for as long as i could remember, and while i dont feel i have it quite as bad as i used to, its still pretty evident. I cam across some scalp scrubs online recently, and thought that maybe this can be of some help for my scalp.

I already knew i wanted to use baking soda because it would be softer on my scalp. The recipe i saw was of a picture of baking soda and shampoo, simple enough. I then went ahead and added some tea tree oil for its added benefits, in relation to scalp, its said to help with dandruff and dry scalp. It also has this cooling effect that I love.

So, i went ahead and made this mixture

The measurements would be:
  • Add the amount shampoo you would use into a container
  • Add 1 tablespoon of baking soda to your shampoo
  • Add 1 teaspoon of tea tree oil
Mix your mixture together until it forms a paste, it might become a bit foamy, that's the baking soda reacting. Next, dampen your hair, and add the mixture in, starting at the base of your scalp as best you can, concentrating on problem areas. Once its all applied, massage your scalp with your "shampoo" and give yourself a much needed deep cleaning. I did this for about 5 minute, just a thorough washing of my hair, and then rinsed.

This CAN be a bit drying, as i realized this while rinsing, so I pulled out my Aussie 3 minute miracle deep conditioner (awesome product btw) and left that in for a bit. I'm sure regular conditioner will work just as fine.

That's all there is to it, It was a nice scrub, cheap because i used both my own shampoo and baking soda, the tea tree oil isn't needed, just an added bonus for my scalp, and it wasn't harsh at all.Give it a try and see if it works for you!
